Urban Design Proposal

The Brooklyn Bridge Waterfront District transforms the iconic bridge into a true pedestrian destination, while creating a new interconnected waterfront district that belongs to both Manhattan and Brooklyn. Assuming a future of congestion pricing, we have restricted access to only public transit, bicycles, and pedestrians; we have created distinct circulation zones for each. By shifting pedestrian bridge access to the shoreline, we create a continuous path from the Manhattan waterfront to the Brooklyn waterfront.
