Architecture & Planning Proposal
Inspired by the traditional board game in Rwanda Igisoro and Omweso and fertile land where many eucalyptus trees grow, The Seed embraces the steep topography of the site where each building is dug into – as if the seed is sown into the pit of the ground. The path to navigate the facilities become a meditative walk that expands as an outdoor terrace and becomes an expandable social gathering for medical professionals, trainees, visitors, patients, and community members. Sustainable materials and construction use the site as the resource for construction materials and provide low-cost energy-efficient systems that bring a whole new meaning to the building that grows out of its earth - from the seed of compassion - and gives back to the land and community.
